FOX and IMG Select Cathy Weeden to Oversee Gators Multimedia Rights Deal

Orlando, Florida -- FOX Sports Networks and IMG have named Cathy Weeden General Manager of Gator Sports Marketing, a division of IMG College that helps manage the marketing and media rights for University of Florida athletics on behalf of FOX-owned Sun Sports. Weeden, currently serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports Florida and Sun Sports, will continue to serve in that capacity until a transition early next year.

Weeden will be responsible for all aspects of the property sales rights, which includes television, radio, Internet, and corporate partnerships. Earlier this year, Sun Sports entered into an exclusive multimedia and sponsorship rights agreement with the institution's University Athletic Association (UAA), marking the first time all Gator sports rights have been aggregated with one multimedia partner. FOX has brought in IMG College for its expertise to help manage the comprehensive property.

Weeden is no stranger to the Gators. In her work at Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida, Weeden helped negotiate the networks' first agreement with the UAA in 1996. Since that time, she has worked closely with the school to build the Gator television offerings to one of the top partnerships in the country. In addition to tape-delayed football, live men's and women's basketball, baseball, and Olympic sports, Weeden led the launch of the popular "Breakfast With the Gators" Sunday morning programming block.

Weeden joins IMG College after 16 years of management experience with regional sports networks. A native Floridian, she joined Sun Sports originally in 1990 and held positions overseeing affiliate sales and marketing, as well as a role as Assistant GM from 1996-1999. She returned to Sun Sports in 2002 as VP/GM after serving in that capacity at Fox Sports Arizona for two years. Following the 2005 acquisition of FOX Sports Florida by News Corporation, Weeden was named VP/GM for both FOX Sports Florida and Sun Sports. Since that time, she has successfully integrated the operations and staff at both networks, resulting in a cohesive partnership offering enhanced programming opportunities and added value for the networks, their advertisers, affiliates, team partners and viewers. In May of 2007, Weeden was promoted to Senior VP/GM.

Multichannel News, a leading cable publication, and Women in Cable & Telecommunications - New York Chapter honored Weeden as one of 12 "Wonder Women" in cable television for 2006. A graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a B.A. in Journalism, Weeden received the University's Professional Achievement Award from the College of Arts and Science in 2002 and was recently named the 2008 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award. In addition, she serves as President of the Board of Directors for Florida Citrus Sports (Capital One Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl) and serves on multiple advisory boards at UCF.
