Sep 03, 2008

LEXINGTON, Kentucky. -- IMG College, a division of IMG, the world's premier sports, entertainment and media company, and Rice University today announced a 10-year extension to their partnership in which IMG serves as the multi-media rights holder for the school's Athletics Department. The new agreement will run through June 2018.

IMG will continue to sell, produce, and distribute radio broadcasts for the Owls, as well as holding the rights to sell, produce, and distribute coaches' shows, television broadcasts of games, game-day programs, hospitality opportunities, corporate sponsorship, and Internet. In addition, the new extension will provide Rice with additional guaranteed rights fees over the next 10 years.

"We're excited to keep the positive momentum this partnership has created moving forward," said Chris DelConte, Athletics Director, Rice University. "The abundant resources and expertise IMG College provides will only lead to continued growth for our program in the future."

"This renewal is a much-appreciated affirmation of the strong partnership that IMG College and Rice Athletics has developed," said Tom Stultz, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, IMG College. "We look forward to many successful years to come as we work to grow the Rice program."

The Rice University and IMG College partnership began in December, 2006.

Since IMG Worldwide began its focus on the college market in 2007, IMG College and its sister division, The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), have secured new and expanded rights with several major collegiate institutions. IMG College formed an alliance with CBS to represent the NCAA's sponsorship rights that recently yielded a corporate partnership deal with Hershey's. Additionally, IMG College has acquired new partnerships, or secured expanded multimedia rights partnerships, with the University of Michigan, the University of Oregon, the University of Nebraska, Gonzaga University, the Ohio Valley Conference, and printing rights for The Ohio State University. On the collegiate licensing side, CLC has added relationships with two Big East clients, Rutgers University and West Virginia University, along with long-term contract renewals with many other key partners.
