WCC Men's Basketball Championship Final to be Broadcast Nationally on Westwood One

Nov 24, 2008

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference (WCC) announced today that its men's basketball tournament final, which will be played on March 9 at the Orleans Arena, will be broadcast nationally on Westwood One Radio. It is the first time that a WCC championship game will be carried on national terrestrial radio.

The broadcast was secured by IMG College, the WCC's multimedia rights partner, through a larger agreement the agency has to feature IMG institutions on Westwood One's "Game of the Week."

"We are excited that IMG has extended its agreement with Westwood One to include the West Coast Conference," said Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich. "This agreement is indicative of the national media attention that our conference continues to garner and will help us extend the WCC brand nationally."

"West Coast Conference athletics has been gaining national interest and success in recent years, and we are proud to be a part of that," stated Lawton Logan, Senior Vice President of Collegiate Properties for IMG College. "Through our partnership with the Conference, IMG hopes to maximize the sports experience for both fans and corporate partners of the WCC and its member institutions."
