University of Nebraska Husker Sports Network Extends Agreement with News Radio 1110 KFAB

LINCOLN, Neb., (July 19, 2010) – Husker Sports Network, the multimedia rights partner of the University of Nebraska and an IMG College property, today announced a partnership extension with News Radio 1110 KFAB that will allow Nebraska Cornhusker football to remain on the powerful Omaha station through 2014.

“Aligning with a local radio station known for its strong presence in Omaha is important to the University of Nebraska Athletics,” said Tom Osborne, Athletic Director, University of Nebraska. “We appreciate KFAB’s commitment to supporting the Cornhuskers and look forward to our long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

“Husker Sports Network is proud to continue its excellence in radio broadcasting by extending our partnership with KFAB,” said David Witty, General Manager, Husker Sports Network. “We look forward to providing the very best for Husker fans in Omaha by offering a convenient way to follow Nebraska football.”

In addition to football, the extension will allow Nebraska men’s basketball to remain on KFAB through the 2014-15 season, and men’s baseball through the 2015 season. Clear Channel’s KTWI-FM will continue as Nebraska’s Omaha outlet for women’s basketball and volleyball.

“The University of Nebraska and KFAB have a longstanding relationship dating back to the 1920s,” said Taylor Walet, General Manager, KFAB. “The Husker’s are part of the family. We are thrilled to continue this partnership with the University and Dave’s team at the Husker Network.”

The new agreement began July 1, 2010.
