IMG Academies and IMG College Join Forces To Represent Senior Bowl
Joint Sales and Marketing Relationship Between the Two IMG Divisions
Sep 15, 2011

(Winston Salem, N.C., September 15, 2011) -- In a first for global sports marketing leader IMG, two company divisions - IMG Academies and IMG College - will team up to support the nation's premier senior collegiate football showcase event.

IMG Academies and IMG College will partner to represent the Senior Bowl to broaden the event's marketing platform and to draw additional sponsorship. IMG Academies will also become the official training partner of the Senior Bowl.

The Senior Bowl, an annual post-season all-star game in Mobile, Ala. showcasing the nation's top senior collegiate football players who have completed their eligibility, is recognized as the premier event for NFL talent evaluation of elite senior college prospects.

As the "official training partner" of the Senior Bowl, IMG Academies will integrate its TOTAL ATHLETE methodology in the areas of athletic and character development into player education during the event. IMG speakers who headlined the NFLPA's 2011 Rookie Symposium, such as Loren Seagrave (Director of Speed & Movement), Jeff Dillman (Head of Physical Conditioning), Trevor Moawad (Director of the IMG Performance Institute), and Steve Shenbaum (Head of Communication by game on), will participate. IMG Academies also plans to develop educational video vignettes that may be included on the NFL Network broadcast and/or via a digital platform.

Additionally, IMG Academies plans to build a more comprehensive sports training and education platform for the entire week leading up to the game. Events under consideration include a world-class high school clinic featuring comprehensive sports performance education that can be applied both on and off the field, as well as a "rising junior" combine powered by the IMG Madden Football Academy and Combine360 (www.combine360.com ), a universal system for measuring overall athleticism and recording sport-specific ability and performance across a variety of disciplines. Sponsors would have activation opportunities at all three event areas: pro, college and high school.

"The pairing of IMG College and IMG Academies captures a wealth of special resources within the IMG family," said Trevor Moawad, Director of the IMG Performance Institute at IMG Academies. "IMG College has created the most comprehensive marketing platform in college sports, and IMG Academies has one of the world's best athletic development skill sets. Partnering with the Senior Bowl, we will help create unique opportunities for sponsors by broadening the game's marketing platform through our delivery of industry-leading sports performance education."

"We are confident that this newly formed partnership with IMG College and IMG Academies will further strengthen the Senior Bowl brand and ultimately translate into a better overall experience for fans, players and sponsors alike," Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said. "We're also excited about enhancing Senior Bowl week and look forward to working with both IMG College and IMG Academies to ensure our players maximize their value to the National Football League by choosing to participate in the Senior Bowl."

IMG College will direct sales efforts with support from IMG Academies. IMG Academies will take the lead on the expanded high school platform with support from IMG College as well as the IMG Events team, led by Jay Ogden, as well as Odis Lloyd, Vice President at IMG Academies.

"The Senior Bowl is a premier, well-attended game that will benefit from IMG's resources and efforts to expand the event platform and help tell the amazing story and history of this game," said Doug Gillin, Senior Vice President, College Properties Sales for IMG. "IMG will work to build on this unique college game, which carries the familiar passion of college football in a great community setting combined with a menu of nightly events and appearances by name coaches, college football legends, and athletes who return each year, providing many interesting opportunities."
