Jun 06, 2011

ATLANTA, Georgia, (June 6, 2011) – IMG today announced it has named Cory Moss Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division within IMG’s industry-leading college division.

Moss, a 17-year veteran of CLC, previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Properties. Effective immediately, he will assume the company’s top position, which was vacated by Derek Eiler in April of this year when he moved into a special projects role within IMG College. Moss will report to Mark Dyer, Chief Innovation Officer for IMG College. Dyer, who before joining IMG in 2008 led NASCAR’s licensing business and subsequently that sport’s largest licensee, Motorsports Authentics, oversees IMG College’s non-media business lines including licensing and brand management, stadium seating and ticketing solutions.

Additionally, the company is making changes to better align its leadership team around key business objectives of brand management, protection, and development. John Greeley will assume the duties of Senior Vice President-Properties, responsible for CLC’s school and conference partnerships. Scott Bouyack will serve as Senior Vice President-Brand and Business Development, responsible for retail channel growth and pursuing new business opportunities. Catherine Singer will be promoted to Senior Vice President-Operations, responsible for day-to-day oversight of business systems and processes within the organization.

“CLC is one of the cornerstones of our IMG College business, and we are excited to have Cory lead the charge as we work with our institutional partners to grow their brands and increase their retail presence across the country,” stated Ben C. Sutton, Jr., President of IMG College. “Cory’s experience and past success at CLC and in the collegiate market, combined with his strong relationships in the industry and a clear vision for the business, made him the right choice.”

CLC was established in 1981 by former University of Tennessee Head Coach Bill Battle, who quickly grew the company to become the industry leader, representing more than 200 of the top colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, The Heisman Trophy and the NCAA. Over its 30-year history, the market for collegiate licensed merchandise has grown from $250 million at retail to more than $4.3 billion today.

IMG acquired CLC in 2007 to start its collegiate business, which has now grown to encompass multimedia rights, licensing, events and hospitality, marketing, stadium and arena development, stadium seating solutions, ticketing, sales, and consulting with partnerships at more than 200 institutions.

“As CLC celebrates its 30th anniversary, I am excited and honored to lead the future of our organization,” added Moss. “We have a dedicated, tenured staff of strong leaders and licensing experts. We look forward to strategically growing the market for collegiate licensed merchandise to best serve our collegiate institutions, licensees, and retailer partners.”

In helping partners maximize their intellectual property rights, CLC works with its partner institutions to secure license agreements with manufacturers that will best ensure the availability of a diverse, high-quality range of college products to best satisfy consumer demand while helping universities generate consistent revenues and maintain institutional values.
