Ohio Valley Conference and IMG Announce Sponsorship Deal With adidas

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) and IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, the Conference's exclusive multimedia rights partner, today announced that the Conference has formed a three-year sponsorship deal with adidas®.

The deal makes adidas® the "Official Provider of OVC Championship Apparel" as the company will provide T-shirts to the winners of all 18 OVC Championships as well as apparel for championship event staff. The new deal also makes the sportswear manufacturer the exclusive sponsor to the OVC in the athletic apparel category and gives adidas® sales opportunities at OVC Championship events.

As part of the deal the league will re-brand its Conference Player of the Week awards the adidas® OVC Player of the Week.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for our league to partner with a first-class international operation like adidas®", said Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner Beth DeBauche. "This sponsorship deal will help grow our brand, bring more visibility to our league and help enhance our student-athletes championship experience."

The adidas® Group is one of the global leaders within the sporting goods industry, offering a broad range of products around the core brands: adidas, Reebok, TaylorMade, Rockport and Reebok-CCM Hockey. The deal comes as part of the OVC's five-year agreement with IMG College which was signed in February 2008. With the deal, IMG represents the OVC through category exclusive corporate partnership sales, as well as radio broadcast production and distribution for the men's basketball championship and other championship events.

With a total fan base of more than 172 million fans, 77 million of which are female fans who influence buying decisions, the college sports market is a an ideal platform for companies like adidas®. The college market's affluent fan base, with more than 29 million college fans earning more than $100 thousand, and 17 million fans between the ages of 18 - 24, provides a key consumer audience.

Through its new sponsorship with the OVC, adidas® will be able to tap into a share of the college market.
