Utilizing IMG College's New National Marketing Platform, UPS Makes Unprecedented Foray Into College Sports
New Platform Created by IMG Provides Sponsorship with Dozens of Universities Comprising National College Footprint

Winston Salem, N.C. (August 29, 2011) -- IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, and UPS (NYSE: UPS) have reached a groundbreaking sponsorship agreement providing UPS an entrée to the first national marketing platform in college sports. The new platform, which includes intellectual property rights for universities coast to coast, media opportunities, and local marketing activation, gives UPS an unprecedented opportunity to reach the largest, best educated and most affluent fan base in sports.

Drawing on IMG College's national network of collegiate assets and relationships, the revolutionary partnership provides UPS a national footprint with local reach through sponsorship opportunities with IMG university partners across the country. UPS will receive exclusive rights to an unprecedented array of marketing assets, channels and intellectual property to reach college sports fans, logo rights to nearly 70 colleges, game-day activation at over 250 college venues, high-impact media across TV, radio and digital channels, and customized integrated marketing platforms aligned to UPS business objectives.

The new relationship gives UPS access to college sports fans in 51 of the 56 Nielsen-metered U.S. markets and multi-tiered marketing relationships with many of the nation's elite college football and basketball universities. Overall, there are 172 million college sports fans in the U.S., including 29 million who earn $100,000 or more annually; both figures are the highest of any sports fan base. There are also 77 million female fans of college sports.

Under the agreement, at 68 schools, UPS will enjoy category exclusivity for all marketing and promotional rights in the shipping, freight and logistics category. UPS will become the official logistics, package-delivery and retail shipping services company in all forms of sponsor recognition related to the schools, including on-campus, in-stadium, licensing, and broadcast, print and web outlets.

IMG's historic consolidation of collegiate media rights provides advertising and branding opportunities within nearly 5,000 hours of college sports television programming and more than 28,000 hours of radio programming produced annually. The agreement with UPS includes radio and TV advertising during IMG broadcasts of football and men's basketball coaches shows as well as in the play-by-play radio coverage; stadium and area signage; and ads in game-day publications and on the school's official athletic web sites.

IMG College will partner with UPS to create experiential opportunities based on unique on-field and on-court access at select IMG College partner schools. Additionally, on behalf of UPS, IMG College will implement a brand ambassador program with luminaries such as coaching legends through its talent and multimedia relationships.

College Sports Fans are significantly more likely to be college graduates, business professionals, and business decision makers, according to Simmons market research. They are also significantly more likely to select vendors for their companies, use overnight delivery services and spend $5,000 per year on shipping.
