IMG College and George Washington Athletics Strike Corporate Sponsorship Rights Agreement
Nation's Leading Collegiate Marketing Company to Bolster Colonials' Brand

WASHINGTON (May 10, 2012)- IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, announced today that it has reached an agreement with The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation to market and sell corporate sponsorships on its behalf. 

“Our new partnership with IMG College will allow us to pursue local, regional, and national corporate sponsorship opportunities for GW's Department of Athletics and Recreation with more focus and dedicated resources than we have in the past,” said Patrick Nero, director of athletics and recreation, George Washington University. “As a nationwide leader in selling multimedia sponsorship rights for a deep portfolio of university partners, IMG College has shown an ability to generate additional revenues for schools across the spectrum of intercollegiate athletics. Likewise, we expect this agreement will ultimately lead to a significant increase in corporate sponsorship revenue, while also aligning GW with another one of the most recognizable and successful brands in college athletics.”

We hope to assist with that momentum by significantly growing their corporate sales efforts both locally and nationally as part of IMG College’s collegiate marketing platform.” 

The partnership will be effective immediately and under the terms of the agreement will allow IMG College to exclusively manage and market all corporate sponsorship rights for the Department of Athletics and Recreation at George Washington, including stadium and venue signage, in-game promotions and advertising opportunities. IMG College’s Amy Weinstein Flynn will serve as the general manager on campus and be dedicated full-time to the university. 

GW is the second Atlantic 10 Conference institution to partner with IMG College, joining the University of Richmond. IMG College represents multimedia, marketing and/or licensing/brand management rights at many of the nation’s premier collegiate athletics departments, including Duke, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, and UCLA, as well as all six BCS conferences and the NCAA. Through an historic consolidation of collegiate sponsorship rights, IMG College provides big brands an opportunity to reach passionate college fans in 49 of the top 50 U.S. markets.
