Independence Bowl Partners With The Collegiate Licensing Company

ATLANTA, Ga., (June 14, 2012) – On the heels of its partnership announcement with the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl today announced a new agreement with The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG College, to manage its trademark licensing program effective immediately. 

“We believe a partnership with CLC will help us more effectively protect, market, and manage the Independence Bowl brand,” said Jack Andres, 2012 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl Chairman.“We are confident that CLC’s extensive experience in bowl licensing and the strong relationships it has with licensees, colleges, and retailers will benefit the Bowl and participating institutions.”

The new agreement will give the Independence Bowl a greater ability to protect and market its brand through a comprehensive trademark licensing program customized by CLC, which currently represents nearly 200 collegiate properties. Prior to joining CLC, the Bowl’s trademark licensing program was managed internally. 

The Independence Bowl, which showcases teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), will be played at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La., on Dec. 28, 2012. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN, and kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
