EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH IMG

East Carolina University (ECU) has agreed to a long-term extension of its successful multi-media rights partnership with IMG College. The new 10-year agreement extends a partnership set to expire in June 2016. 

IMG began serving ECU in July 2006. Since then, IMG has increased school sponsorship revenue by more than 335%, including attracting brands such as UPS and Reese’s through the university’s inclusion in the first national collegiate marketing platform as well as official partnerships with U.S. Cellular, Blue Cross Blue Shield NC, and AAFMAA, a new Military Appreciation Day sponsor.

"IMG is the national leader in the collegiate marketplace, and its team serving us has proven to be both professional and innovative in working with local and regional sponsors. IMG has also helped us to establish a very successful licensing program, which has grown significantly in the last several years. We are very pleased that our General Manager Meghan Heinchon and her team will continue to be an important part of the Pirate family for many years to come."

The new media rights agreement follows a 10-year extension in licensing announced in July, 2014, continuing a successful relationship with the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, which began in 1984. ECU’s licensing program has increased its royalty revenues 25 of the last 29 years and has grown more than 120% since 2007.
