IMG College Seating Expands Into NFL

Jun 16, 2014

Winston-Salem, NC (June 16, 2014) -- IMG College Seating is entering the NFL market through agreements with the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans, providing a cushion seat amenity at Ralph Wilson Stadium and LP Field, respectively, beginning in the 2014 football season.

This significant expansion in the 19-year-old company's evolution extends to a new market a rapidly growing business now serving 130 college partners. With several high schools and five NASCAR race tracks also recently added to its customer mix, IMG College seating provides a convenient, comfortable padded seat to nearly 1 million fans across America each year.

The new NFL seat offering allows fans to enhance their game-day experience by leasing theater-style padded seats which are preinstalled at each ticket holder's location throughout the entire season for just $50.00.

Tennessee Titans fans can reserve a MVP seat online at www.titansseats.com and Buffalo Bills fans can do the same at www.buffalobillsseats.com.

"Whether at the college or professional level, everyone is looking to improve the stadium guest experience,” said Mark Dyer, senior vice president, business innovation, IMG College. “We're leaders and innovators in offering products that enhance fan satisfaction. It's a natural expansion for us to offer better seating comfort to NFL fans."

IMG College Seating was founded in 1999 by Virginia Tech students John Hite and Franklin Yancey, who designed and manufactured comfortable and convenient seats initially for Virginia Tech and ECU. The two entrepreneurs then added universities including Arizona State, Air Force, Oregon, and Oklahoma.  In 2008, ISP acquired the company, known as College Comfort, which had grown to 30 partners.  ISP was then acquired by IMG College in 2010.

"IMG College Seating is a classic entrepreneurial business success story: Seeing something where nothing existed and then working incredibly hard to build on that vision," said Ben Sutton Jr., president of IMG College. "John and Franklin have been doggedly persistent in serving fans and their school partners. They saw a path to even greater growth and took advantage of our scale to build a market-leading business that's now branching beyond college into the NFL and other sports."
