EXPANDED MARKETING PROGRAM SUPPORTS ANNUAL COLLEGE COLORS DAY TO KICK-OFF THE 2015 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON

The Collegiate Licensing Program’s largest national marketing program, College Colors Day, launches today, backed by an expanded campaign that includes a nationwide fan spirit contest, a celebrity and athlete influencer program with WME | IMG clients, ESPN promotion, in-store retail displays, and special social media video content.
 
More than 12,000 retail locations nationwide, more than 100 universities, and more than 50 former star college athletes will encourage fans to flaunt their school spirit by wearing their favorite team’s colors.
 
Created by CLC, which represents the trademark licensing programs of nearly 200 collegiate institutions, College Colors Day celebrates and promotes the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience.
 
New for 2015, CLC has launched the College Colors Challenge, a socially-fueled national contest, which will give a grand prize winner a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship game. Through participating in a series of photo and video challenges on social media, fans can flaunt their colors, express their school spirit, and vie for a trip to college football’s title game. The challenges revolve around three categories represented by the hash-tags: #SQUADPIC (large group), #FAMPHOTO (family), and #SELFIE (individual).
 
Some of the challenges include fans posting an epic “trick shot” video while wearing their colors, an awkward college colors family photo, and college colors displayed at the office. Tied to the trick shot fan challenge, CLC has enlisted You Tube star talents Dude Perfect, the Bryan Bros and Brodie Smith, who will post a series of trick shot videos highlighting specific CLC schools.
