IMG today announced a multi-year extension and expansion of its relationship with TuneIn, the world’s largest audio network, to continue carrying play-by-play broadcast and team-specific college sports content from more than 60 IMG College partner schools across every major conference.
Included in the deal is the reintroduction of the College Sports Now channel, which will feature the Nissan College Football Blitz and a new two-hour college sports roundup show airing weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time. Mike Maniscalco will serve as host for the daily show, with support from prominent guests and analysts from across the country.
Also new to the deal is the ability for listeners to access on-demand content for each of the team-branded stations including game audio, interviews, features and weekly coaches’ shows. Power 5 conference team stations will also gain access to a weekly conference report throughout the playing seasons.
TuneIn’s on-demand functionality also allows partner schools to distribute audio content via Twitter.
“TuneIn has a long-standing relationship with IMG, and we’re thrilled to expand our partnership with the launch of a new show and more IMG College teams,” said TuneIn Chief Content Officer Kevin Straley. “Not only is college sports a key component to our library of sports content, but the ability to bring the excitement of live games to listeners is at the heart of what TuneIn is all about.”
“We are thrilled to extend our successful partnership with TuneIn across our full portfolio of college audio broadcasts,” said Rick Barakat, Senior Vice President, Sales Strategy and Operations at IMG College. “From College Sports Now to on-demand audio, our relationship with TuneIn helps passionate college sports fans access and consume their must-have content no matter where they are in the world.”
The Nissan College Football Blitz launched in September 2015 featuring live “cut-in” coverage of top college football games all day Saturday starting at 2 p.m. ET. Produced and distributed by IMG, the Blitz includes 10 hours of coverage each Saturday with a special season kickoff show on Thursday, September 1, beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern.
TuneIn’s free and premium services are available for download on iOS and Android devices, at and on more than 200 connected devices. Listeners can also sign up for a free preview of TuneIn Premium, which offers access to live play-by-play of NFL, MLB and NBA games, plus over 40,000 audiobooks and commercial-free music stations.
