IMG COLLEGE LICENSING EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO CAMPUSES

IMG College Licensing today announced a five-year extension of its global partnership with the University of Colorado to continue managing the university’s successful trademark licensing program, which includes its other campuses at University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS, and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
 
Since IMG College Licensing began its partnership with Colorado in 2001, the school’s licensing program revenues have increased nearly 91%. 
 
“Our goal is to ensure the University of Colorado is a top brand at retail across, and we believe IMG College Licensing is the right partner to continue helping make that happen,” said J. T. Galloway, Assistant Athletic Director for Trademark Licensing at Colorado. “After reviewing competitive bids, we believe IMG College Licensing’s vision for the future of the Colorado brand and the resources they bring to the University will best-position us for future brand and revenue growth.”
 
The Colorado licensing program is coming off its third consecutive year of record royalties, with the university’s officially licensed product now sold by more than 952 retailers. The university has achieved greater retail distribution in part by participating in key retail initiatives developed by IMG College Licensing, including two recent programs at Target and Kohl’s, as well as IMG College Licensing’s exclusive national brand platforms: College Colors Day, Rock Your Colors and Holiday Cheer Section.
 
In addition to the success achieved at the Boulder campus, royalties for UCCS have grown 16% in the last two years, while the University of Colorado Denver experienced nearly 10% royalty growth over the past fiscal year.
