IMG COLLEGE LICENSING AND PENN STATE EXTEND LICENSING PARTNERSHIP

Feb 22, 2018

IMG College Licensing today announced a multi-year extension of its partnership agreement with The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) to continue to manage the school’s successful trademark licensing program. The partnership began in 1994.

Penn State has worked with IMG College Licensing to implement strategic brand management and marketing programs that have resulted in a 48% growth in royalties earned over the past three years. The renewed partnership will continue to give Penn State access to IMG College Licensing’s innovative tools and systems, as well as customized retail strategies and national brand protection network, to continue to elevate the Penn State licensing program.

“IMG College Licensing provides us with the data and program insights, marketing platforms, and industry leadership to help us effectively and efficiently manage our licensing program and grow the Penn State brand in ways that align with our University goals and principles,” said Maureen Riedel, Director of Licensing Programs for Penn State. “We look forward to continuing to leverage their expertise and resources to deliver top-quality products to our fans and supporters.”

Penn State licensed product is currently carried in nearly 2,400 retailers nationwide. Last year, the University ranked 10th in royalties generated across all IMG College Licensing institutions but is on track to finish in the top five for the 2017-18 fiscal year. Penn State’s top-selling product categories include men’s and women’s t-shirts, fleece items, youth apparel, and men’s fashion apparel, with Nike as its top licensee.

“Penn State is a leader in collegiate licensing in so many ways, including their commitment to corporate and social responsibility,” said Cory Moss, SVP and Managing Director, IMG College Licensing. “We are excited to extend our long-time partnership with the University and look forward to delivering new opportunities and solutions for Penn State to connect with its consumers across the globe.”

IMG College Licensing currently represents nearly 200 colleges, universities, bowl games, and athletic conferences, including nine Big Ten institutions.
