Alexander Chang Joins IMG College As Vice President, National Sales

Winston-Salem, N.C. (June 5, 2013) – IMG College, the nation’s leading collegiate marketing company, today announced that Alexander Chang has joined the company as Vice President of National Sales.

Chang, a 13-year veteran of American Express, will be responsible for attracting continued corporate interest to the college sports marketplace by providing opportunities to connect with 173 million college sports fans through deep relationships with leading universities and conferences coast to coast, providing a national/multi-regional footprint with hyper-local activation. The collegiate fan base is the largest, most affluent and the best educated in all of sports. Chang will be based in New York, reporting to Andrew Judelson, IMG’s Senior Vice President, U.S. Business Development.

Chang, who officially joins IMG on July 1, has been Vice President of Sports and Entertainment Marketing at American Express, leading sports partnership programs providing American Express Cardmembers unparalleled access and experiences in sports. He also oversees strategic planning and measurement across all American Express access programs which include sports, music, film, and fashion.  In his previous role as VP of U.S. Advertising, Chang led the communications strategy and creative development for American Express’ domestic card business. Prior to American Express, he was a strategy consultant for Ernst & Young.

In 2013, Chang was named to the Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list, recognizing the most promising executives in the sports industry. In managing American Express’s sports sponsorships, he has been recognized with awards including Best Activation of a Sports Sponsorship and Best Use of Technology by Event Marketer, as well as Communicator of the Year from the Business Marketing Association.  Chang received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
